Certified Providers Vision Shaping Treatment
Vision Shaping Treatment (VST) is a trade name used by Baush and Lomb to market their product which provides Orthokeratology (OrthoK, Corneal Refractive Therapy [CRT]) to people. Orthokeratology is a method of correcting blurry eyesight with orthokeratology lenses (ortho k lenses), which are applied to the eye for the purpose of corneal reshaping. An alternative to LASIK and other surgical methods of correcting vision, Orthokeratology offers people a non-surgical method of achieving vision without contact lenses or glasses while awake. A special lens is fitted for the eye which the patient sleeps in, and upon awakening removes. Most people are able to go for at least one day without contacts or glasses after sleeping in the lens.
Options such as OrthoK, cornea refractive therapy including paragon crt (vision shaping treatment) are particularly helpful when seeking to improve eyesight in children, and reduce change in vision, specifically myopia in children and may, in some cases reduce the risk of children with myopia advancing to high myopia.
